I hope this finds you in God's grace and peace. As new as this year 2016 still is, it is truly amazing the opportunities that are presented in this life as a missionary and the lives I get to be part of.
I am finding that going into the missions field starts with preparing for the unexpected, as well as embracing the unknown. I learn that the more flexible I am, the quicker I can find comfort in what God is doing according to His will as long as I remain in Him. I have been able to continue full-time as a missionary because of one important ingredient: Choosing to Remain.
"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me." - John 15:4
“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. - John 15:9
So today I want to remind you that God wants you to live a fruitful life, He has great plans for you that will be accomplished as long as you continue to stay connected to Jesus Christ.
There will be pruning along the way as well: "He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more." (John 15:2)
2 Things to remember:
1. The pruning in your life is meant for your benefit.
2. Remain at all times close in Jesus Christ
I pray you continue to see life from God's perspective and to remain a positive influence at home, at work and the places you serve others.
Blessings,
Nikita Carter
